Academic Excellence and Affiliation

Affiliated with the ICSE Board of Education, the school is highly ranked among educational institutions in India and stands as one of the best ICSE Schools in Dehradun.

Campus and Location

The expansive campus is nestled in lush green lychee and mango orchards, covering ninety bighas in Dalanwala, a prestigious area in Dehradun. Generations of boys have lived on this historic campus, which boasts impressive Raj-era architecture and a serene, picturesque environment.

A Global Student Community

Colonel Brown Cambridge School attracts students not only from across India but also from around the world, fostering a diverse and vibrant community.

A Brief History of Founding Partnership

In efforts to break from traditional British mindsets, Col. Brown initially collaborated with Dr. Balbir Singh, an educated and visionary individual. Despite their shared passion for education, their partnership was short-lived as their strong personalities and independent views led them to continue their educational pursuits separately.

The Beginnings at Dick House

Col. William Brown, along with five students, first moved into Dick House, property number 5 Dick Road, in 1926. The property, once part of a tea garden owned by Col. Dick, became the starting point of the school following Col. Dick’s passing and the need to manage the estate.

The Tea Gardens of Dalanwala

The Dalanwala area and the surroundings across the Rispana River were once known for tea production, which was popular in North India. Some of these tea gardens still remain on the outskirts of the city, adding to the charm of the school’s location.

School Motto and Crest

The school’s motto, “MAGNA EST VERITAS” (Latin for “TRUTH IS GREAT”), serves as a guiding principle for future generations. The crest, featuring the lion for courage, the shamrock for Irish heritage, and the torch for learning, symbolizes the school’s foundational values that continue to inspire its growth.
